In 2018 and 2019, GZYV organized Innovation Contests to support research and development in YILDIRIM Group’s most successful sectors: shipping and mining. It was also created as a way to encourage and develop the innovation culture of Turkey.

With YILDIRIM Group finding great success in mining and shipping, we saw it fit to motivate students in these sectors, to create innovative ideas within these industries. The goal of these contests were to motivate various university level students to create projects that could be rationally implemented within the industry, as a way to give them hands on experience from their studies. The prizes included cash, internship opportunities and scholarships to continue their studies. This opportunity also served to introduce them to industry professionals to act as mentors as they enter the workforce.
