YILDIRIM Group and Garip & Zeycan YILDIRIM Foundation collaborated to swing into quick action for the Kahramanmaras earthquake, one of the most catastrophic disasters of the century, and to provide untiring support for the affected regions hit by the earthquakes.
Immediately after the earthquake, YILDIRIM employees responded to our Foundation’s call, collecting needed emergency aid such as: hygiene products, canned & packed food, baby food, heaters, illuminators, blankets, and thermal clothing, to help the victims in these regions. Through the collaborative efforts of YILDIRIM employees, the first phase of the collected aid items was packed and loaded into the truck on February 9th, delivering a total of 61 boxes to the earthquake victims in Hatay.
Through YILDIRIM’s immense and ongoing contribution, our Foundation will continue to collect voluntary donations from our employees and provide them with those in need.
After the earthquake, we launched a donation campaign among YILDIRIM Group employees in accordance with their urgent needs lists.
With the donations collected, we have prepared parcels to be sent to the earthquake zone with the support of our volunteers
A total of 107 parcels were prepared and sent to the earthquake zone:
- 61 parcels of YILDIRIM Group truck to Hatay
- 20 parcels to the earthquake zone with the vehicle of the General Directorate of Foundations
- 26 parcels were sent to KAMER to be distributed to women and children in the earthquake zone
Psychological support is provided to women who are victims of violence with the support we give to the Mor Salkım Women's Solidarity Association. After the earthquake, the same support began to be provided to women and children in the earthquake.
Hatay Mayadali village contacted our Foundation and asked for support. We provided food and medicine assistance in the amount of TL 20,000 to this village, which is difficult to reach.
We have made a donation to UNFPA (United Nations Population Fund) to provide assistance to pregnant women in order to increase our support activities for women in the earthquake zone.
With the letter we sent to all our employees on March 8, International women's day, we invited them to donate to support the Mother-baby and feminine hygiene packages that UNFPA Turkey gives to pregnant women.
We donated 44 computers to students who suffered material and moral losses in the earthquake so that they could continue their education without interruption.
We have launched our “Toys for Happy Children” campaign to be given away on April 23.
Our goal with the campaign is to give a happy April 23rd National Sovereignty and Children's Day to our children aged 4-12 living in the earthquake zone. We are planning to give the toys to our children with the entertainment program that will be organized for them.
As YILDIRIM Group and Garip & Zeycan YILDIRIM Foundation, we will keep giving our best support for the activities in the earthquake region and meeting the essential needs.
We mourn for all citizens, who lost their lives due to the catastrophic event, conveying our sincerest condolences to their loved ones and wishing the injured a speedy recovery.
